...WINTER STORM WARNING IS CANCELLED...

Wintry precipitation has ended. Temperatures will drop to below
freezing again tonight and any residual moisture on roadways will
refreeze and may create slick areas. Use caution if traveling
through Wednesday morning.

… Snow Tapering Off West to East Over the Area …
… Winter Storm Warning / Cold Weather Advisory Continues …

NWS Doppler weather radar indicates, as expected, that light snow has mostly tapered
off northwest of the IH35 corridor. Model guidance suggests that the light snow will end
west-to-east pretty quickly with sunrise over the area with clouds expected to break
over the area during the morning into midday.

So far.. as of 6am.. snowfall totals on the IH35 corridor include 0.7 inch at NWS COOP
Station AGHT2 Austin Great Hills.. 0.4 inch at Austin City Camp Mabry and 0.3 inch from the FAA weather observers at Austin Bergstrom International Airport. With light snow
tapering off over the next hour or so, I expect that these will end up being the storm
totals with this system.

This overnight snow has left our roadways slick and hazardous; please avoid any
travel until we can get a little sun later this morning and temperatures above
freezing by midday.

As skies clear, a very chilly night is expected tonight with a very hard freeze
throughout our area. Lows are expected to fall into the upper teens to 20s. Even
though most of the snow/sleet, given meager amounts, will melt later today
with the return of sun and above freezing temperatures, refreezing will
occur overnight of any remaining moisture.
