AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) As the first upper air low pressure disturbance moves north and northeast of Texas today into tonight, another strong upper level low over the Pacific Ocean will move eastward through the southwestern USA and will then move northeastward into the weekend with better rain and perhaps even thunderstorm chances. As this storm system moves by, a stronger surface cold front will move through the area tomorrow. Because the front may outpace the upper level low, we’ll keep rain and thunderstorm chances going on back in the cooler air for the first half of the afternoon Friday before rain chances decrease and clouds break late Friday afternoon into early Friday night.

(3) A drier and more stable weather pattern with temperatures falling back to below season averages is likely for our upcoming weekend.

(4) Southerly surface winds and increased moisture, with increased clouds and humidity, will be seen for the first part of next week as another cold front approaches and moves into the area by Tuesday.
