WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT TONIGHT…

SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) After morning low clouds and patchy fog, plenty of sunshine is expected today. with temperatures above seasonal averages.

(2) A cold front is expected by daybreak tomorrow; however, the front will pull up stationary overhead and remain overhead or just southeast of the IH35 corridor with clouds and rain chances increasing tomorrow through tomorrow night and Wednesday.

(3) A stronger upper air low pressure disturbance will move overhead by late Wednesday with rain and thunderstorms peaking late Wednesday into Wednesday night. As the upper air disturbance moves by, a second much stronger cold front will surge through the area around midnight Wednesday night.

(4) In the wake of the stronger cold front, clouds and rain chances will clear the area by Thursday midday into the afternoon as much colder temperatures take hold across the area.

(5) Clear skies and/or plenty of sunshine is expected late Thursday through Friday and through the weekend with temperatures continuing well below average.

TONIGHT…. Partly cloudy early becoming mostly cloudy late. Low 59. Southeasterly wind 4 to 8 mph.

TUESDAY…. Mostly cloudy and a bit cooler with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms by afternoon with an associated lightning threat as a weak cold front moves overhead. Where rainfall occurs, given a 50%chance of rain, it will average 0.25″ or less. High 73. Southerly wind shifting northeasterly 5 to 10 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT…. Cloudy with scattered rain showers and a few thunderstorms with an associated lightning threat. Where rainfall occurs, given a 50% chance of rain, it will average 0.25″. Low 62. Easterly wind 4 to 8 mph.

WEDNESDAY…. Cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with an associated lightning threat in the morning then becoming likely after midday. Where rainfall occurs, given a 60% chance of rain in the morning and 80% by afternoon, it will average 0.50 to 1.00″. High 75. Light easterly wind becoming northwesterly 4 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT…. Cloudy, windy and much cooler with rain showers and thunderstorms. Where rainfall occurs, given a 80% chance of rain, it will average 0.25″ to 0.50″. Low 42. North northwesterly wind increasing to 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts.

THURSDAY…. Mostly cloudy, breezy and much cooler with scattered rain showers through the morning. Decreasing clouds becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Where rainfall occurs in the morning, given a 40% chance of rain, it will average 0.25″ or less.  High 55. North northwesterly winds 10 to 20 mph.
