AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will develop over our area as atmospheric moisture increases from the Gulf of Mexico as an upper level low pressure area moves ashore through mid and late week. There is the possibility of some heavier rain especially in areas south through east of the IH35 corridor southeast of the Austin area.

(2) Rain chances decrease a bit by the weekend as the atmosphere becomes a little more stable. Even so, moisture and instability will linger so there will be widely scattered to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon hours.

(3) Afternoon high temperatures, over the next seven days, will continue overall to be above seasonal averages. I do not see any cold frontal passages / change of air masses over the next seven days.
