AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) As upper level high pressure (think “lid” on the atmosphere) continues to hold over the area, a dry and stable weather pattern is continuing into the new week with temperatures continuing well above average.

(2) A weak atmospheric disturbance will cause the atmospheric “lid” to weaken just a bit Wednesday into Thursday with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, with an associated lightning risk, possible. Due to cloud cover and the chance of precipitation, temperatures will fall a degree or two but still remain well above seasonal averages.

(3) As the disturbance passes, the atmosphere becomes more stable again with rain chances dropped from the forecast Friday through next weekend. Temperatures will rebound a degree or two remaining well above seasonal averages.
