WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT TONIGHT…

…. Elevated Heat Indices with Record High Temperatures Continuing Over the Area ….

SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) With upper level high pressure, anchored to our west over the four corners region, acting like a “lid” on the atmosphere, little change expected as a mostly stable summer like weather pattern continues. Abundant sunshine will continue for much of the new week ahead with afternoon high temperatures warming back to well above 100 degrees (well above seasonal averages) with elevated heat indices.

(2) By the end of the week and through next weekend, upper level high pressure will settle more to the east and be centered off to our distant northeast extending westward to north and northwest of our area. This means a little less of the atmospheric “lid” being overhead and I will bring down afternoon high temperatures but only a few degrees.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance is predicting no rainfall over our area over the next seven day forecast period.
