AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) As the air mass destabilizes a bit, a weak southward moving cold front will wash out as it moves southward through north Texas and approaches our area today; in advance of the front, I will maintain slim rain chances in the forecast for today mainly in areas north of Austin.

(2) By tonight, the front is expected to wash out just north of our area as the atmosphere becomes more stable once again.

(3) A more stable environment will prevail with sunshine for the upcoming weekend with temperatures continuing to be well above average.

(4) A significant cold front is on tap for late Sunday night into the predawn hours Monday morning with a slim chance of rain with cooler temperatures to follow. For the first time in a while, temperatures following the front will be closer to seasonal averages (what we expect this time of year).

(5) After getting a bit cooler Monday and Tuesday, a warming trend will send afternoon high temperatures back closer to 90° by Wednesday into Thursday before another stronger cold front moves through our area by Friday of next week.
