..
Upper Level Low Pressure Disturbance Moving Eastward Away from Area ..

At mid morning on this Friday, the strong upper level low pressure disturbance has moved well east of our area and is located northeast of Houston.

Gusty northwesterly winds are still occurring over the area but will settle down by later
today into tonight.

As expected strong and gusty west northwesterly winds have been reported over the last 18 hours. Over that time period, strongest winds gusts in our area included…
…Austin Bergstrom International Airport observed 40 mph wind gusts in the 4 to 5pm hours yesterday…
…Austin Camp Mabry observed  38 mph wind gusts in the 4 to 5pm hours yesterday…
…Austin Executive Airport (Pflugerville) observed 41 mph wind gusts in the 5pm hour yesterday…
…Rusty Allen Airport/Lago Vista observed 44 mph wind gusts right at 4pm yesterday…
…Georgetown Municipal Airport observed 38 mph wind gusts in the 4pm hour yesterday…
…San Marcos Regional Airport observed 43 mph wind gusts in the 4pm hour yesterday…

Some light rain was observed over the area in the overnight and early morning hours (mostly trace amounts). No reports of snow mixed with rain were received from the IH35 corridor.

As the upper level low moves further eastward, clouds will decrease later today into tonight with plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures for the weekend.

This is my final statement on this weather situation.

Happy holidays…
