WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT SUNDAY NIGHT…

Dangerous lightning will accompany a few thunderstorms which are expected Saturday night into Sunday in advance of a strong cold front which will pass through the area Sunday morning. Remember the NWS slogan.. “When Thunder Roars, Go Indoors”.

A freeze is likely, especially in outlying and low lying areas, overnight Sunday night into Monday morning. Temperatures will fall to mid to upper 30s by the midnight hour Sunday night.

TODAY…. Patchy morning fog and drizzle. Mostly cloudy with temperatures very slowly rising by afternoon. High 58. Light northeasterly wind becoming more easterly by afternoon and then more southeasterly 4 to 8 by late afternoon.

TONIGHT…. Cloudy. Patchy fog and drizzle. Low 55. South southeasterly wind 4 to 8 mph.

SATURDAY…. Patchy morning fog and drizzle. Cloudy with scattered rain showers. A 30% chance of rain. Rainfall, where it occurs, will average .10 inch or less. High 68. Southeasterly wind 4 to 8 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT…. Mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers. An isolated thunderstorm with an associated lightning risk after midnight. A 30% chance of rain. Where rainfall occurs, it will average .10 inch or less. Low 59. Southeasterly wind 4 to 8 mph becoming more southwesterly after midnight.

SUNDAY…. Mostly cloudy and turning much cooler during the morning with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with an associated lightning risk as a stronger cold front passes. Decreasing clouds in the afternoon. A 40% chance of rain. Rainfall, where it occurs, will average .25 inch or less. Highs in the 60s in the morning falling to near 50 in the afternoon. Southwesterly wind 5 to 12 mph shifting northerly 10 to 20 mph and gusty by midday.
