AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) A passing upper air low pressure disturbance has increased mid level cloud cover today but, at this time, only a few sprinkles are expected. A few ice pellets have been reported to be mixed in with the sprinkles over the hill country; this may continue in areas mainly to our west through midday and early afternoon. Because of the cloud cover, afternoon high temperatures will be well below seasonal averages.

(2) With the passage to the east of the upper level low, clouds are expected to break by tomorrow into late week as surface low pressure develops over west Texas with a corresponding return south southeasterly surface wind. Temperatures will be warming to above seasonal averages.

(3) Another cold front will move quickly through the area late Friday night with increased clouds but, at this point, I am not confident enough in the guidance to include any rain in my forecast.

(4) Skies will partially clear with temperatures falling back to below seasonal averages for our weekend into next week. Another weaker cold front is expected to pass by early Monday; basically, it will reinforce the cooler air mass already in place.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance, other than a few sprinkles expected today, is predicting no rainfall for our area over the next seven days.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
