AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) As surface high pressure moves east of our area and an upper level low pressure area moves west to east over south Texas, a warm front is lifting northward through the area with southerly surface winds returning. We’ll see a warming trend along with increased cloud cover that will persist into Saturday and Saturday night.

(2) As moisture increases, we’ll see a few rain showers and isolated thunderstorms develop mainly in areas east of the IH35 corridor by tonight into tomorrow as the eastward moving upper level low pressure disturbance makes its closest approach to our south. In addition, dense fog and drizzle will likely become widespread later tonight into early tomorrow.

(3) In the wake of the upper air disturbance later tomorrow into tomorrow night, clouds will break with precipitation moving well east of our area. Another surface cold front will pass through the area by midday Sunday with temperatures cooling again Sunday night into the first part of next week.

(4) A more unstable weather pattern is expected to develop as low pressure develops over west Texas with a corresponding return south southeasterly surface wind by the middle into latter part of next week. Rain and rain shower chances will return to our forecast.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance is predicting 0.25 to 0.50 inch of rainfall for our area over the next seven days.
