AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) In the wake of overnight cold front, much cooler temperatures today under a partly cloudy through mid afternoon as the front weakens and becomes stationary in an west-to-east fashion to our south. An overrunning pattern will become established with clouds thickening and lowering by later today through tonight with a few rain showers developing by late tonight.

(2) The front to our south will surge back northward as a warm front by tomorrow night into Friday in advance of a upper level trough.. or line.. of upper level low pressure and associated cold front that will move eastward across Texas by late Friday night into Saturday morning. Rain chances will continue to increase with a few thunderstorms expected in the period between the passage northward of the warm front and then the passage of the cold front on Saturday morning. The NWS/Storm Prediction Center is continuing to monitor a severe thunderstorm risk for parts of north Texas and Oklahoma into the lower and middle Mississippi Valley for the time period but it looks like risk will be well north through east of our local area.

(3) In the wake of the cold front early Saturday, skies will clear and cooler temperatures will prevail Saturday night through Sunday and into next week.
