… Dry and Stable Weather Due through the Weekend …
… Increased Humidity With Rain Chances Returning Early Next Week …

On the Weather Map…

On the surface map… a cold front extends southwestward from a surface low over the Mississippi/Alabama border into southeastern Louisiana and the northwest Gulf of Mexico. The front extends inland from the Gulf into northeastern Mexico, south of Brownsville, the northwestward across northern Mexico into southwestern New Mexico and Arizona. Surface high pressure, north of the front, is centered over the southern plains. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds are north northwesterly.

On the upper air map… a deepening trough, or line, of upper level low pressure extends from Hudson Bay southward through the eastern half of the USA. Another trough, or line, of low pressure aloft is over the Pacific Ocean well off the west coast of the USA. As a result of the upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are northwesterly 45 to 50 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

In the wake of yesterday’s cold front, a more stable weather pattern will prevail through the weekend. Another cold front will pass tomorrow but it will only reinforce the air mass in place. Little in the way of sensible weather, other than a wind shift, is expected with the front tomorrow.

Surface high pressure will once again move east of the area by tomorrow night into Saturday and into early next week with low level moisture, off the Gulf of Mexico, making a return to the area.

A more unsettled weather pattern will return by the middle into the latter part of next week with rain chances reappearing in the forecast by Tuesday into Wednesday.

Have a good Thursday..

… Cold Front / Upper Air System Passes Later Today into Tonight with Rain Chances …
… Dry and Stable Weather Due Late Week through the Weekend …
… Increased Humidity With Rain Chances Returning Early Next Week …

On the Weather Map…

On the surface map… a cold front extending southwestward from the western Ohio Valley region into extreme southeastern Oklahoma and across north Texas and continuing westward into southwest Texas and southern New Mexico. Surface high pressure, in advance of the front, is centered over the northwest Gulf of Mexico. Behind the front, a surface high is centered over the Rockies and intermountain west. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds are light and variable.

On the upper air map… an upper level low pressure disturbance is located over North Carolina with another southeastward moving upper air disturbance over southern Nebraska and northern Kansas. A third trough, or line, of low pressure aloft is over the Pacific Ocean well off the west coast of the USA. As a result of the upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are west northwesterly 50 to 60 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

Today into tonight, a passing upper air low pressure disturbance will move from northwest to southeast across north Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. An associated cold front, which has already moved into north Texas, will move across our area by this afternoon with the upper air low pressure disturbance being a little slower in crossing over the area. While the system will be pretty dynamic, gulf moisture return has been very meager so I will continue only slim rain chances today into tonight, first associated with the front moving southeastward, and afterwards into tonight as the upper air system completes its passage overhead.

A more stable weather pattern will prevail for the latter part of the week through the upcoming weekend. Another cold front will pass on Friday but it will only reinforce the air mass in place. Little in the way of sensible weather, other than a wind shift, is expected with the front on Friday.

Surface high pressure will once again move east of the area by late in the weekend into early next week with low level moisture, off the Gulf of Mexico, making a return to the area.

A more unsettled weather pattern will return by the middle into the latter part of next week with rain chances reappearing in the forecast by Tuesday into Wednesday.

Have a good Wednesday..
