Developing Cold Front Moving Eastward Across the Area Today…
Lots of Sunshine with a Stable Weather Pattern Mid and Late Week into the Weekend..
Another Cold Front Due Friday Morning with Cooler Temperatures …
On this Tuesday… a stationary front extends from northern Florida west southwestward through the northern Gulf of Mexico to off the Texas coast and just south of the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. High pressure is over the Tennessee Valley westward through the central plains. A surface low is developing over west and southwest Texas. As a result of this pressure pattern, surface winds are light westerly across our area.
In the upper levels of the atmosphere, a trough of upper air low pressure extends southward from central Nebraska into eastern New Mexico. As a result of this upper air wind flow, our upper level winds are moderate to strong southwesterly.
As the upper level low to our northwest develops a winter storm over the southern plains with heavy snow well to our north.. we’ll see a developing cold front move across the area by midday today with drier air and decreasing clouds thereafter. Until then, a new light showers and isolated thunderstorms will be scattered across the area.
Sunshine will accompany a drier and stable air mass across the area for mid into late week and even into the weekend. A cold front will move across the area.. bringing in noticeably cooler air and reinforcing the dry and stable weather pattern.. by Friday morning.
A dry and seasonable weather pattern will prevail.. with slightly below seasonal temperatures.. Friday night into Saturday and Saturday night.
High pressure will move eastward with a return south southeasterly surface wind by Sunday into Monday with the return of late night and early morning low clouds by Sunday night into Monday morning.
Another cold front will move across the area by late next Monday into Monday night with widely scattered rain showers and thunderstorms possible.
