A Dry Stable Weather Pattern Through Much of the Next Seven Days …
A Cold Front Due Late Sunday Night into Early Monday …

On this Friday… a low pressure system is over Missouri. A cold front extends from the low pressure area southward along the Mississippi River into the northwestern Gulf of Mexico. A surface high pressure extends from the central and northern plains into Texas in the wake of the front. As a result of this pressure pattern, in the wake of the front, surface winds are moderate northerly across our area.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere, a broad trough of upper air low pressure is over the central USA. As a result of this upper air wind flow, our upper level winds are moderate to strong southwesterly.

The upper air storm system north of our area continues to move northeastward as drier air surges into our area.

Clouds this morning will thin by midday into afternoon as the drier and stable weather pattern takes hold. The drier and more stable air mass will prevail into and through the weekend.

Another low pressure area and cold front will move through Texas late Sunday night into the predawn hours Monday but with limited moisture, very little in way of sensible weather is expected over than the associated frontal wind shift.

The dry and stable weather pattern will be reinforced as the front passes the area. As a result, it’s more of the same for the early into mid part of next week.

Unfortunately, given our ongoing drought, I don’t see any rain chances over the next seven days.
