TK’s Weather Discussion….

Updated 915am CT – Tuesday / 10 March 2015

… A Drier and More Stable Weather Pattern …
… A Warming Trend Kicking In…

On this Tuesday morning…. a low pressure area is over southern Arkansas and northern Louisiana with a cold front extending southward from the low pressure area through southern Louisiana into the northwestern Gulf of Mexico and eastern Mexico south of Brownsville. High pressure.. centered over the Rockies and the intermountain west.. is building southeastward into Texas. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our local surface winds are light.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere.. an upper level trough.. or line.. of low pressure extends southwestward from the central plains into Texas and northern Mexico. As a result, our upper air winds at about 18,500 feet are southwesterly at 25 to 35 mph.

With the upper level low pressure disturbance moving through Texas, a drier and more stable weather pattern will build in today with skies partially clearing later today.

This pattern will prevail through late week and through our upcoming weekend and even into early next week. With the increased sunshine, temperatures will be warming back to near seasonal averages.

There is no precipitation in the seven day forecast.

Regarding my forecast, my local forecast confidence: My forecast confidence is high to very high through the remainder of the week into the upcoming weekend.

Have a good Tuesday….
