AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) The axis of the chilly surface high pressure, in the wake of Saturday night’s arctic cold front, is moving east of the area as we get our new week underway. This is resulting in a light and variable wind this morning expected to become south southeasterly by afternoon. This southerly surface wind will allow for temperatures to rise back closer and even above seasonal averages by mid week.

(2) Another series of dry cold fronts will move through the area late Wednesday into early Thursday which will drop temperatures back below seasonal averages as we wrap up the week. Limited low level moisture return and limited atmospheric instability means little cloudiness and no precipitation as the front passes. By the weekend, as southerly surface winds return, we’ll see a warming trend.

(3) Yet another surface cold front (yes, you guessed it, dry) will pass through the area by Sunday morning with temperatures cooling again Sunday night into Monday.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance is predicting no rainfall for our IH35 corridor over the next seven days.
