… Sunshine Returns …
On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… a surface low pressure area is moving east northeastward into southwestern Louisiana with a cold front extending southward through the western Gulf of Mexico. A surface high is situated over the eastern Great Lakes states and the eastern Ohio Valley region. As a result of this surface weather pattern, the surface winds are northwesterly.
On the upper air map… a trough, or line, of upper level low pressure is located from northeastern Nebraska southward into Texas. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are westerly 50 to 60 mph.
What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…
A drier and more stable weather pattern with sunshine and warmer temperatures will unfold today and will continue through Saturday before another dry cold front passes, with only a wind shift, late Saturday night into Sunday. In the wake of the dry front, temperatures will cool a bit, with the sunshine continuing, for Sunday into the first few days of next week.
Approaching low pressure and a surface cold front will result in increasing clouds, humidity and some slim rain chances by the end of the next week and into the 8 to 14 day outlook period.
Have a good Thursday..
