… Clouds Break Today …
… Rain Chances Return Late Tonight Through the Weekend …
… Cold Front Due Late Tomorrow and Again Tuesday Night …
On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… surface high pressure, in the wake of a cold front over the Gulf of Mexico, is located to our northeast over Arkansas and the middle Mississippi Valley. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds are northerly.
On the upper air map… a broad trough, or line, of low pressure extends from Hudson Bay over much of the USA. An upper air high pressure area is along and offshore of the California coast. As a result of the upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are westerly at 50 to 60 mph.
What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…
A little break in the clouds today into tonight with a warming trend.
Another series of upper level disturbances and a surface cold front will approach the area by late tonight into tomorrow with clouds and increasing/thickening clouds and higher rain chances appearing as early as tomorrow. Precipitation amounts, during this period, will average 1/10th inch or less.
In the wake of another cold front on Saturday afternoon, clouds and rain chances will persist Saturday night into Sunday and through the first half of next week as another overrunning pattern develops in advance of yet another upper air low pressure disturbance early next week. After a bit of a warm up on Saturday, cooler temperatures will be apparent for Sunday into the new week before a warming trend kicks in again Monday into Monday night.
Another surface cold front will move through the area by Tuesday night as the upper air low pressure disturbance moves eastward through the area. In the wake of the front and upper air disturbance, it looks like clouds will linger along with slim rain chances for the middle part of next week.
Have a good Thursday..
