OBSERVATIONS AND MY LATEST THOUGHTS:
At 900am… temperatures continue to fall slowly across the area with both Austin City
(Camp Mabry) and Austin Bergstrom Intl Airport now at 32F. Austin Great Hills (Arboretum
area) has fallen to 29.4F.. Jollyville (LCRA Hydromet) is 30F.. Austin Executive Airport (along
the toll road just southeast of Pflugerville) is 30F.. Georgetown is 30F.. Lago Vista is 30F…
This concerns me given the fact that (1) temperatures are not going to recover much across
the area today and (2) more precipitation is approaching the area from the southwest.
We need to continue to monitor this weather event carefully… everyone is responsible for
keeping up with the latest information in case the temperatures end up colder than expected
and the situation turns worse than expected.. stay weather aware. Listen to local media
reports for the latest information.
