…. A Clear Sky Returns with Unseasonably Warm Temps for Wednesday …..
…. A Strong Cold Front.. Dry in Nature.. To Move Across The Area Wednesday Night …
…. No Rain in my 7 Day Forecast ….
On this Tuesday… a surface low pressure area is moving eastward from eastern Louisiana and southern Mississippi with a cold front extending southward into the Gulf of Mexico. Surface high pressure.. behind the front.. is situated from the Rockies into west Texas. As a result of this surface pressure pattern, surface winds are northwesterly across our area.
In the upper levels of the atmosphere… a strong upper air low pressure disturbance is moving east northeastward across north central Texas. This disturbance is within a broad west to east upper level wind flow. As a result of this pressure pattern, the upper air winds over our area of Texas are becoming more northwesterly as the upper air low pressure disturbance moves eastward.
The upper level low pressure area.. over north central Texas.. will continue to move east northeastward over the next 24 hours. With this occurring, I expect a mostly clear sky over the next few days with unseasonably warm temperatures Wednesday.
A strong cold front appears in the offing.. again, it looks like a dry system.. for the Wednesday night with much cooler air moving into the area for the latter half of the week. Those much cooler temperatures will be under a clear to partly cloudy sky.
As the surface high.. behind Wednesday night’s front.. moves eastward, we’ll see a return to a south southeasterly wind flow over the weekend.
Another cold front.. again, a dry one.. is slated to move across the area by early next Tuesday morning
My forecast confidence through the remainder of the week is very high. My forecast confidence is high to very high for the upcoming weekend. Forecast confidence.. for early into mid parts of next week.. is medium to high (exact timing of the Tuesday cold front is still a little uncertain).
For Austin and south central Texas… tonight will be clear. Lows around 38. Westerly winds 5 to 10 mph. For tomorrow, it’ll be sunny and much warmer. Highs will make it into the 70s. Southwesterly wind 5 to 12 mph.
Have a good Tuesday night and Wednesday…
