High Fire Danger Today with Strong Winds….
Another Cold Front Due Early Wednesday….
A Dry Stable Weather Pattern Through Much of the Next Seven Days….
On this Monday… a series of cold fronts is moving through Texas in association with developing low pressure storm system over north Texas. Surface high pressure.. over the Rockies.. will be building into Texas in the wake of the system. As a result of this pressure pattern, in the wake of the front, surface winds are strong northwesterly across our area.
In the upper levels of the atmosphere, a strong upper level low is over northwest Texas. As a result of this upper air wind flow, our upper level winds are very strong southwesterly with 18,500 foot winds overhead near 100 mph.
The upper air storm system north of our area continues to move slowly northeastward as drier air surges into our area on the heels of strong westerly winds.
A drier and stable weather pattern continues across the area as we start the new week. It will prevail through much of the next seven day period. I expect another cold front through Texas by Wednesday morning but with no or very limited moisture ahead of it, very little in way of sensible weather is expected over than the associated frontal wind shift.
The dry and stable weather pattern will be reinforced as the front passes the area. As a result, it’s more of the same through late week through the weekend and into early next week.
Unfortunately, given our ongoing drought, I don’t see any rain chances over the next seven days.
Have a good Monday night and Tuesday…
