SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…
(1) Plenty of sunshine is expected into the weekend as temperatures head up above seasonal averages. As temperatures warm in a south southeasterly surface wind flow, low level moisture will make a return.
(2) A weak cold front will move into the IH35 corridor late tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon but will have little effect on our sensible weather other than a weak wind shift. As quickly as the front moves into the area, it will weaken and return northward as a weak warm front by late tomorrow night in the predawn hours Sunday.
(3) An approaching stronger cold front will result in increased clouds and the addition of rain chances to the forecast by Sunday into Monday. The cold front is expected to move through the area by early Monday morning with scattered to numerous rain showers and thunderstorms as it moves through.
(4) Plenty of sunshine with drier and a little cooler air for the first part of next week following the cold frontal passage Monday morning.
(5) Just beyond the seven day forecast, with what appears in the models as a strong cold front, we will see the chance of rain returning by next Thursday into Friday. Model guidance and the NWS 8 to 14 Day Outlook suggest unseasonably chilly weather for next weekend.
