… A Dry and Stable Weather Pattern Continues Through the Next Seven Days …
On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… a weakening cold front extends southwestward from eastern Tennessee into central Alabama.. Mississippi and Louisiana where it extends southwestward to the Texas coastal plains and northeastern Mexico. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds over south central Texas are north northeasterly.
On the upper air map… a broad area of upper air high pressure, acting like a “lid” on the atmosphere, is centered over southern California and over Nevada.. Arizona and Utah. An unseasonably strong area of upper level low pressure area extends southward from Hudson Bay and then over Great Lakes and the eastern half of the USA. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are northwesterly 55 to 60 mph.
What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…
The weak cold front, that has moved through the area in the early morning hours yesterday, will continue to wash out in the Texas coastal plains today.
A dry and stable weather pattern will prevail mid through late week through the weekend and even into early next week. Temperatures will rebound a bit with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s by the weekend into early next week. No precipitation is seen in the 7 day forecast beyond today.
