… A Dry and Stable Weather Pattern Over the Next Seven Days …

On the Weather Map…

On the surface map… a weakening stationary front extends southwestward from southern Missouri through central Oklahoma and the Texas south plains into central New Mexico. Surface high pressure is located over the southeastern USA and the western Atlantic Ocean basin. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds over south central Texas are south southeasterly.

On the upper air map… an upper air low pressure disturbance is over central Iowa in what is otherwise a fairly zonal (west-to-east) USA upper air wind pattern. Upper level high pressure.. acting like a “lid” on the atmosphere.. extends eastward from the southwestern states across the southern plains into the southeastern USA. As a result of the upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are light westerly at about 10 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

Again this morning, we’ve seen isolated sprinkles across the area from the deck of morning low clouds. However, the atmosphere continues to be quite stable with above average afternoon temperatures expected in the coming days.

This weather pattern will continue through the balance of the week and into next weekend with little or no chance of precipitation.

Have a good Tuesday..
