… A Dry Day Today …
… Unsettled Weather Pattern and Rain Chances Return by Tomorrow …
… Weather Pattern Turns More Stable Later in the Week …
… Clouds and Rain Chances Return over the Upcoming Weekend …
On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… a stationary front extends southwestward from the Alabama and Mississippi coasts southwestward to off the central Louisiana coast into the northwest Gulf of Mexico off the Texas coast. Weak high pressure, behind the front, is situated from the Ohio Valley into far west Texas. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds are light northerly.
On the upper air map… the broad deep trough, or line, of counter clockwise rotating upper air low pressure continues from Canada southward across the USA. Within the broad counter clockwise flow, a strong disturbance extends from southwestern Canada to along the west coast of the USA. As a result of the upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are west southwesterly 90 to 100 mph.
What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…
In the wake of the cold front that moved through the area on Saturday night and trailing upper air low pressure disturbances yesterday, a more stable weather pattern will prevail today in the wake of our morning fog in areas of the IH35 corridor and areas eastward.
We’ll see another cold front move through the area by the late Wednesday with clouds and rain chances returning as early as tonight into Tuesday.
Once the front passes by Wednesday night, a drier and more stable weather pattern will prevail Thursday through Friday and through most of the day on Saturday.
Another approaching cold front and associated upper air low pressure disturbance will affect the area by Saturday night into Sunday. The front should pass through the area by midday next Monday with rain chances decreasing thereafter.
Precipitation over our south central Texas region, over the next seven day period, will average somewhere in the 1/4 to 1/2 inch range.
Have a good Monday..
