.. A Dry Stable Weather Pattern Continues ..
.. Major Weather Changes Next Week ...
On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… surface high pressure has settled southward into Texas in the wake of last evening’s weak cold frontal passage. The front extends from the southeastern USA into the northern and western Gulf of Mexico into northeastern Mexico. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds across south central Texas are light northeasterly.
On the upper air map… a rather zonal (west-to-east) upper level wind prevails over the USA with an upper air low pressure disturbance within this upper air wind flow extending southward from Hudson Bay into the eastern Great Lakes and northeastern USA. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our area are westerly around 45 mph.
What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…
A dry and stable weather pattern is in place over the area in the wake of our weak cold frontal passage last evening.
As the surface high pressure moves eastward, a south southeasterly surface wind will return by later today into tonight through the weekend with a slow warming trend and a slow return of low level moisture expected into early next week.
The atmospheric computer model guidance continues to suggest a major upper air pattern change over North America by the middle and latter part of next week. Current indications are that we’ll see a wetter and much cooler weather pattern developing over parts of Texas by Tuesday and Wednesday.
Have a good Friday….
