.. A Mostly Dry Stable Weather Pattern Continues ..
On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… a surface high pressure is over the eastern Gulf of Mexico with a trough, or line, of low pressure extends southward from eastern Colorado into west Texas and eastern New Mexico. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds across south central Texas are south southeasterly.
Upper air map… a broad area of low pressure extends southward from British Columbia southward into the western third of the USA. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our area are westerly at 40 to 50 mph.
What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…
A dry stable weather pattern with slightly above average afternoon high temperatures continuing to hold through Thursday.
By Thursday, as our atmosphere becomes a little more unstable, cloudiness will increase a bit with slim rain chances with afternoon high temperatures closer to seasonal levels. At this point, any rainfall, where it occurs over our area on Thursday, would average 1/4 inch or less.
After a dry Friday and weekend, slim rain chances return for the early and mid part of next week with a partly cloudy sky continuing. Afternoon high temperatures will remain near seasonal averages.
Have a good Tuesday….
