.. A Dry Stable Weather Pattern ..
On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… surface high pressure extends southwestward from the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River Valley into Texas. A very weak trough.. or line.. of surface low pressure extends southward from eastern Colorado and western Kansas into eastern New Mexico. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds across south central Texas are light northerly.
Upper air map… a high pressure area is over the intermountain west and the Rockies. An upper level low is associated with the remnants of tropical cyclone Irma over southern Georgia. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our area are northerly 40 to 50 mph.
What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…
We’ll see a dry stable weather pattern continue to hold through the new week and through the upcoming weekend with temperatures warming to seasonal levels.
