On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… surface high pressure is located over the Gulf of Mexico and over the four corners region. A weak trough, or line, of low pressure separates the high pressure area extending south southwestward from eastern Colorado and western Kansas into eastern New Mexico and west Texas. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds across south central Texas are southerly.

Upper air map… a deepening low pressure trough extends southward from southwestern Canada through the western USA. Upper level high pressure, acting like a “lid” on the atmosphere, continues over the northwest of Gulf of Mexico across south Texas. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over noth northwesterly 15 to 20 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

Upper level high pressure continues overhead with plenty of sunshine and slightly above average afternoon high temperatures expected. There will be areas to our east where rain chances may be higher for Wednesday and again for Saturday into Sunday so some towering clouds may be visible to our distant east.

Little change is seen through most of the week and through the coming weekend.
