… Clouds and Higher Humidity …
… A Cold Front Passes Through the Area Tonight …
… Sunshine with Cooler Temperatures Mid through Late Week …
On this Tuesday… a trough, or line, of surface low pressure extends southward from southern Nebraska through western Oklahoma and into southwest Texas west of Del Rio. A cold front extended from southern Nebraska into Colorado and southeastern Utah. As a result, our surface winds across south central Texas are southerly.
In the upper levels of the atmosphere.. a trough, or line, of upper air low pressure is located from central Canada south southwestward over the western third of the USA. Our upper level winds, at about 30,000 feet overhead, are westward at 75 to 80 mph.
Southerly low level winds continue to bring low level moisture northward into Texas with low clouds, fog and even a few sprinkles here and there as we begin the new week. Our temperatures are warming and will continue through today.
A quick moving cold front will move through the area in the predawn hours tomorrow with a few rain showers and thunderstorms possible in advance of the system.
Skies will clear with cooler and drier conditions expected tomorrow through the end of the week.
A developing surface low pressure area.. along the old front to our distant south.. will move west to east with an overrunning pattern developing for the upcoming weekend. Another cold front will move into Texas by early next week with rain chances and clouds lingering into Sunday and Monday before that cold front moves through our local area by early Tuesday.
Have a good Tuesday….
