… Clouds and Rain Chances Return over the Upcoming Weekend …
… Another Cold Front Due Early Monday …

On the Weather Map…

On the surface map… a southeastward moving cold front extends from the ArkLaTex region to along the Texas coastal plains. Another secondary cold front is moving southeastward through north central Texas. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds are northwesterly.

On the upper air map… a counter clockwise rotating upper air low pressure trough is over central USA with another low pressure area off the coast of the Pacific northwest coast. As a result of the upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are west southwesterly 90 to 100 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

With the leading cold front now through the area, a drier and more stable weather pattern will prevail through tomorrow night.

Another approaching cold front and associated upper air low pressure disturbance, from the west, will pull low level moisture northward again to affect the area by Friday night into Saturday, Sunday and into next week. The front should pass through the area by late Sunday into Monday with rain chances decreasing thereafter.

Precipitation over our south central Texas region, over the next seven day period, will average less than 1/4 inch range.

Have a good Thursday..
