Updated 915am CT – Thursday / 30 April 2015

.. A Dry and Stable Weather Pattern ..
.. Next Storm System by Early to Mid Next Week ..
.. Rain and Thunderstorm Chances Show Up By Next Tuesday ..

On this Thursday…. a surface high pressure area extends southward from the plains and the upper Mississippi Valley into Texas. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our local surface winds are light westerly.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere.. an east northeastward moving upper level low pressure system is over the Great Lakes with a weaker disturbance over the Rio Grande River northwest of the lower Rio Grande Valley. As a result, our upper air winds at about 18,500 feet are north northeasterly at 10 to 15 mph.

A dry and stable air mass continues across our area. The cooler than average temperatures of late will turn warmer through the remainder of the week through the weekend as a southerly surface wind flow becomes reestablished. Even so, expect plenty of sunshine through the balance of the week and through our upcoming weekend.

Another frontal system and upper air low pressure storm system will approach us from the west with increased cloud cover and a slim chance of rain showers and thunderstorms by next Tuesday into Wednesday.

Have a good Thursday….
