… Dry and Stable Weather Due through the Weekend …
… Increased Humidity With Rain Chances Returning Early Next Week …

On the Weather Map…

On the surface map… a cold front extends southwestward from a surface low over the Mississippi/Alabama border into southeastern Louisiana and the northwest Gulf of Mexico. The front extends inland from the Gulf into northeastern Mexico, south of Brownsville, the northwestward across northern Mexico into southwestern New Mexico and Arizona. Surface high pressure, north of the front, is centered over the southern plains. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds are north northwesterly.

On the upper air map… a deepening trough, or line, of upper level low pressure extends from Hudson Bay southward through the eastern half of the USA. Another trough, or line, of low pressure aloft is over the Pacific Ocean well off the west coast of the USA. As a result of the upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are northwesterly 45 to 50 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

In the wake of yesterday’s cold front, a more stable weather pattern will prevail through the weekend. Another cold front will pass tomorrow but it will only reinforce the air mass in place. Little in the way of sensible weather, other than a wind shift, is expected with the front tomorrow.

Surface high pressure will once again move east of the area by tomorrow night into Saturday and into early next week with low level moisture, off the Gulf of Mexico, making a return to the area.

A more unsettled weather pattern will return by the middle into the latter part of next week with rain chances reappearing in the forecast by Tuesday into Wednesday.

Have a good Thursday..
