… A Dry and Stable Weather Pattern For Much of the Remainder of the Week …
… Another Disturbance and Cold Front Friday Night into Saturday …

On the Weather Map…

On the surface map… surface high pressure extends from Texas north northwestward into the intermountain west. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds are northerly.

On the upper air map… a northwest-to-southeast oriented trough, or line, of low pressure is centered from the Great Lakes into the mid Atlantic states. As result of the upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are west northwesterly 55 to 60 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

The drier and more stable weather pattern will continue over the area through Thursday night into early Friday before another upper air low pressure disturbance and associated cold front move through the area by late Friday into Saturday. Clouds will increase over our area as the south southeasterly surface wind off the Gulf of Mexico increase tomorrow through Friday bringing abundant low level moisture northward into the area. Widely scattered rain showers are possible Friday night into early Saturday with a drier more southwesterly surface wind developing on Saturday resulting in much warmer than average temperatures.

The cold front will not move through the area until later in the day on Sunday. Drier and somewhat cooler air will move into the area by Sunday night through the first part of next week.

Over the next seven days, according to guidance from the NWS/Weather Prediction Center, rainfall over the IH35 corridor will average 1/4 inch or less.

Have a good Wednesday..
