… Unsettled Weather Returns with Clouds and Rain Chances …
… Following Frontal Passage, A More Stable Weather Pattern Tomorrow …
… Clouds and Rain Chances Return over the Upcoming Weekend …
… Another Cold Front Due Early Monday …

On the Weather Map…

On the surface map… a northeastward moving warm front extends from southwestern Alabama northwestward into central Arkansas into central Oklahoma. A developing low pressure area is over southwestern Kansas with an associated cold front extending westward into Colorado then southwestward through western New Mexico and northwestern Mexico. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds are southerly.

On the upper air map… a strong counter clockwise rotating upper air low pressure disturbance is over central and southern Arizona into northwestern Mexico. As a result of the upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are west southwesterly 70 to 80 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

The warm front moved back northward through the Austin area yesterday afternoon with afternoon high temperatures climbing to unseasonably warm levels (to near 80 F).

Another cold front moves through the area by tonight into early tomorrow, we’ll see rain and thunderstorm activity peak.

Once the front passes by early tomorrow morning, a drier and more stable weather pattern will prevail tomorrow through Friday night.

Another approaching cold front and associated upper air low pressure disturbance, from the west, will pull low level moisture northward again to affect the area by Friday night into Saturday, Sunday and into next week. The front should pass through the area by early next Monday with rain chances decreasing thereafter.

Precipitation over our south central Texas region, over the next seven day period, will average somewhere in the 1/2 to 3/4 inch range with most of it in the overnight hours tonight.

Have a good Wednesday..
