… Clouds Coming and Going As Disturbances Pass …
… Warming Temperatures …

On the Weather Map…

On the surface map… a surface high pressure area extends from over central Texas east northeastward into the lower Mississippi Valley. As a result of this surface weather pattern, winds are easterly.

On the upper air map… a deep trough, or line, of upper air low pressure extends southeastward from Hudson bay across the eastern USA. A ridge, or line, of upper air high pressure extends north northwestward from northern Mexico through the western USA and the Pacific Northwest. A weak eastward moving low pressure disturbance is over the southwestern USA. As a result of the upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are west northwesterly 90 to 100 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

Another cold front has “backdoor”ed its way into Texas allowing a little cooler air to filter in from the northeast.

At the same time, the upper air low pressure disturbance to our west is expected to cross overhead later today through tonight with an increase in mid and high level clouds. Guidance suggests a few sprinkles may develop from the mid level cloud deck but the chance of rain at any given location is very slim.

Clouds will break again tomorrow into Saturday before low level moisture increases late Saturday into Saturday night with increased clouds, warmer temperatures and a slim chance of rain and rain showers develops over the area.

Another cold front will cross our region by late Sunday into Sunday night with drier and more stable air taking hold once again.

Sunshine and seasonal temperatures are expected for the first few days of next week with a warming trend expected mid week and beyond.

Have a good Thursday….
