… Lots of Sunshine Over the Next Few Days …
… Some Questions as Clouds Increase Over the Weekend …

On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… a cold front is located from central and south Florida westward across the Gulf of Mexico into northeastern Mexico south of Brownsville. Surface high pressure.. northwest of the front.. extends southeast from the Pacific northwest into the intermountain west and southern Rockies into Texas. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds across south central Texas are light.

On the upper air map… a broad trough, or line, of upper level low pressure covers the eastern half of the USA with the trough extending southward from Hudson Bay down into the southeastern USA and eastern seaboard. An upper level low pressure disturbance is over northwestern Mexico. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our area are westerly around 70 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

It looks like lots of sunshine over the next day or so.

Some questions have arisen about the weekend weather as the upper level low out west tracks more into Texas with model guidance now increasing the cloud cover with a pretty good increase in mid and upper level moisture and even corresponding rain chances. At this point, I’ll increase clouds but will hold off on rain chances until I see another atmospheric model run or two.

It looks like another cold front late Sunday will result in clearing and a little cooler temperatures by early next week.

Have a good Wednesday….
