.. A More Stable Weather Pattern Setting In …
.. Warmer Than Average Temperatures into Early Next Week ..

On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… a warm front is lifting northeastward from a surface low over western and central Kansas southeastward into southern Arkansas. Higher surface pressure is over he southeastern USA. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds across south central Texas are south southwesterly.

On the upper air map… a broad trough, or line, of upper air low pressure stretches southward from Canada across the USA with a more zonal (west-to-east) upper level wind developing over much of the USA as the trough flattens a bit. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our area are westerly 65 to 75 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

Even as another weak cold front moves into northwest Texas and Oklahoma and becomes stationary, I expect a dry and more stable weather pattern to develop area wide through the end of the week and through the upcoming weekend into early next week. In addition, with the increased sunshine, we’ll see afternoon high temperatures warm to well above seasonal levels. No rainfall is expected over the next seven days.

Our next cold front will move through the area next Wednesday, but at this time, I am not impressed with any rain chances with the system. Temperatures will cool a bit in the wake of the front for the middle part of next week.
