.. Clouds and Fog Decrease by Midday ..
.. A Drier and More Stable Weather Pattern Setting In …
.. Much Warmer Temperatures Mid/Late Week through Weekend ..

On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… a weakening stationary / warm front extends southwestward from northern Louisiana into a weak surface low over east Texas northeast of Bryan/College Station. From the surface low, the front continues south southwestward through the Texas coastal plains then to the western Rio Grande Valley. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds across south central Texas are light and variable.

On the upper air map… a broad trough, or line, of upper air low pressure stretches southward from Canada across the USA. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our area are westerly 75 to 85 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

The cold front, that moved southeastward through the area early yesterday, is weakening and return quickly northward as a warm front later today.

As it does, we’re seeing rain chances decrease quickly and the fog and low clouds will break partly cloudy by early this afternoon as a south southwesterly surface wind flow returns to the area in the wake of the northward moving warm front.

Even as another weak cold front moves into north Texas and Oklahoma and becomes stationary, I expect a dry and more stable weather pattern to develop area wide through the end of the week and through the upcoming weekend. In addition, with the increased sunshine, we’ll see afternoon high temperatures warm to well above seasonal levels.

The next cold front that will get close to the area appears to be next Wednesday, but at this time, I will call for little change in the overall weather pattern until we get a little better idea on its effect on our area weather.

Have a good Wednesday….
