.. Rain Chances Linger ..
.. More Sunshine by the Weekend into Next Week ..

On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… a southeastward moving weak cold front extends from central Mississippi into central Louisiana to along the Texas coast around Corpus Christi where it turns more westward to south of Laredo then into northeastern Mexico. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds across south central Texas are north northeasterly.

Upper air map… an upper level disturbance, remnants of the deep trough, or line, of low pressure that has been over the western USA the last few days, is ejecting northeastward over southeastern Utah. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our area are west southwesterly about 35 to 45 mph.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

In response to the northeastward movement of the upper level low pressure disturbance over the western USA, we’ll see rain chances come down a bit but still linger today into tonight in the wake of the cold front that moved through our area late last night. Any rainfall, where it occurs, over our area over the next 24 hours, will average 1/4 inch or less.

Once the upper air disturbances moves out of the southwest USA, a drier and more stable weather pattern will prevail locally by late tomorrow and through the weekend and into early next week. Temperatures will be warming a bit as well as sunshine increases over the weekend into next week.

Have a good Thursday….
