This is where I place special updates during periods of severe and/or inclement weather.

At this time, other than the summer heat, there is no threat of severe/inclement weather.

.. A Stable Summer Weather Pattern ..

On the Weather Map…
On the surface weather map this Wednesday… a stationary front extends northeastward from central Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas and southern Missouri them eastward to southern Kentucky. Surface high pressure is east of the area with a trough.. or line.. of low pressure extending southward into southwest Texas. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds across south central Texas are southerly.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere, an upper air low pressure trough, or line of low pressure, extends from the Great Lakes into Texas. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over south central Texas are light west southwesterly.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…
Overall, there will be little change in the overall stable weather pattern for south central Texas and the Austin metro area over the next seven days.

We’ll continue to see our morning low clouds giving way to abundant sunshine each day with highs in the upper 90s to near 100 into late week and the early part of the weekend.

There are some indications that the air mass may grow a little more unstable by Saturday into Sunday but I am reluctant to mention anything more than a few more clouds given most model guidance doesn’t show anything more than temperatures coming down a degree or two.

Have a good Wednesday….
