TK’s Weather Discussion….

Updated 915am CT – Thursday / 26 March 2015

.. The Cold Front Moves Through the Area Earlier This Morning ..
.. Clouds Break Later Today with Sunshine and Cooler Temperatures ..
.. Plenty of Sunshine and Warmer Temperatures Friday Through the Weekend ..

On this Thursday morning…. a surface low pressure area is over the ArkLaTex region with a southeastward moving cold front extending southwestward to along the Texas coast. High pressure building southeastward behind the front from the plains into the intermountain west. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our local surface winds are gusty north northwesterly.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere.. a deep broad trough.. or line.. of upper level low pressure is situated from Hudson Bay southwestward into Texas. As a result, our upper air winds at about 18,500 feet are west southwesterly at 35 to 45 mph.

After a few hours of post frontal clouds, drier air.. with abundant sunshine.. will prevail today and Friday and through our upcoming weekend. After the briefing cooling trend today, we’ll see the return of a warming trend Friday through the weekend and into early next week.

A passing upper air low pressure disturbance will result in the introduction of slim precipitation chances by next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Regarding my forecast, my local forecast confidence: My forecast confidence is back to very high as a more stable weather pattern returns. Forecast confidence drops back to medium to high by next Tuesday and Wednesday with the approach of an upper air low pressure disturbance and associated precipitation chances.

Have a good Thursday….
