…. An Upper Level Low Pressure Disturbance Moving Our Way ….
…. Rain Chances Increase Again ….
…. A Stable and Drier Air Mass will Develop in the Wake of the Disturbance ….
On this Monday… surface high pressure is situated to our north over the plains states with a cold front extending from the southeastern USA into the Gulf of Mexico. As a result, a northeasterly surface wind is blowing across our area.
In the upper levels of the atmosphere, another upper level low pressure area is sinking southeastward toward Texas from the southern Rockies. As a result of the upper air wind flow, the upper level winds are moderate west southwesterly over our area.
An upper level low pressure disturbance will move across the area from the west tonight into Tuesday and Tuesday night. Moisture and instability will increase across the area as the disturbance moves overhead with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms expected. As the system moves east of the area, rain chances will decrease by tomorrow night.
Skies will partially clear again Wednesday through next weekend as a more stable air mass becomes reestablished overhead once again.
For Austin and south central Texas… tonight will be mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the 60s. Northeasterly wind. For tomorrow, mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the 80s with an northeasterly wind.
Have a good Monday night and Tuesday…
